Meal Plan is now rebranding to Teesti Meal
|
"The existing food delivery apps are killing us, if not Covid-19."
Teesti Meal emerged from the frustrations and inspirations of a small restaurant operator.
The existing major food pick-up and delivery platforms typically impose:
- 30% of commission taken from our sales
- demanding discount and premium campaigns
- none or least control over the inventory management and order limitation brings chaos in the kitchen
- the long open hour requirement just to ensure order confirmation on the spot because the platform cannot validate pre-order in lack of any inventory system
All these irrational arrangements come from those who don't fully understand restaurant operation.
It all started when our team leader, Yuri, got to know about the entrepreneurial competition, Prototron. It was already the evening of the deadline and she only had 2 hours to write up her business idea on the extensively detailed application form. Still, Prototron gave her the chance to present the idea out of her head to the world!
Since 8th April 2021 when Yuri's idea was announced to be one of the top 50, she has been immersed in the daily entrepreneurship workshops, started learning how to code for variable subscription payments, studied about API integration for the first time to find all necessary technical solutions for the platform, and managed to make the mobile app UI design and this webpage, all within 4 weeks while operating her Japanese restaurant in Tallinn.

Our team leader is fast growing, so as the business prospects of Teesti Meal!
The Prototron Contest Spring 2021 selected us as one of the finalists! Yuri represented the team "Meal Plan" (former name of Teesti Meal) at the Latitude59.

What we want to achieve
Hot Meal Subscription
Our powerful database allows customers to make their Meal Plan which truly caters for their dietary preference. All of our restaurants pack their meals in reusable, dishwasher-safe containers. Customers rinse the containers and return them on the next pick-up or delivery. Each restaurant will then wash and sanitise them in the high-temperature industrial dishwasher. |
Chilled Meal Subscription
Customers can make their Chilled Meal Plans from the dishes across the participating restaurants. Suitable option for families and offices where people have different preferences on when and what they want to eat. The Chilled Meals last for 48 hours from the scheduled pick-up or delivery time. So if someone do not want to cook at all, 3 times of Chilled Meal collections can cater for the whole week. |
Trial Meal Offer
Hot Meal
Restaurants can opt to allocate some foods for trial order (one time purchase) at cheaper price range from a certain hour of their choice. This will help restaurants to sell out leftover foods, and potential customers can have a tasting before they create their subscription plans.
|
Chilled Meal
Secret Chilled Meal operators are required to provide one extra dish each day for the purposes of quality assurance spot check and serving for trial users, and catering for those who in need. |
Food Bank
Meal Plan by itself eliminates food wastes on our orders, but as long as restaurants also cater for walk-in customers, leftover food still exists. Our restaurants can offer them up as trial meals in a significantly cheaper price range, but if these still cannot sell out, then we offer the leftover food free of charge in collaboration with the local food banks. Anyone can receive the leftover meals, free of charge, no questions asked. This is how we achieve no food wastes while saving lives! |
Chilled Meal for Bulk Catering
Mealtime on a film shooting venue differs by person. Packed hot meals kept in room temperature increases the risk of food poisoning. For filming industry, illness and schedule change would be a huge trouble and must be avoided. Our bulk catering of Chilled Meals from several different restaurants minimises the food poisoning risk and bring more joy to the shooting venue as people can now choose their own meal from the selection of Chilled Meals and heat it up when they are ready to eat. |
Our team and supporters
We are currently a team of 4 people from around the world, contributing all our skill sets to realise this business idea in the global market.
Until a sufficient amount of investments, each of us is working purely from the unconditional friendship and passion for a social cause.
