Software development and IT
From 1992-1995 Glen was part of the team Microlink and did develop sales software (coded in Microsoft Access, Visual Basic and Visual C++) for Microlink's subdivision LBI and the computer-shop Enter. These were the early days of HTML or internet, as we know it today. In 2004 Glen and his friend and former colleague Ott Aaloe created the online accounting environment www.distribuutor.ee for Golden Neolife distributors. In 2007 they created the online accounting environment www.leemur.net for self-employed individuals (FIEs) and small businesses. Tech and Journalism
As somebody of passionate interest with tech, in 2007 Glen started to write about gadgets and tech in the magazine Tehnikamaailm and does so up to date. Four years later, he and his friend Kaspar Rohtla began to make weekly video reviews about tech under the brand TehnikaTV for the site www.motors24.ee. TehnikaTV was continued until 2020 as a part of Motors24 Youtube channel. Since 2013, Glen has been collaborating regularly with another Estonian tech magazine Digi and is a regular guest in the Raadio Kuku's tech-programme Digitund. Glen has extensively contributed in popularising personal electric transport vehicles in Estonia, ever since the year 2014 he “discovered” electrical unicycle Solowheel and has been riding and talking about all kinds of funny things since. One thing he hates though, are electric scooters, especially rental ones. As a consultant and journalist, Glen has helped www.voltride.ee with his experience in electrical transportation field. |
Music
Glen has been involved in music from his early childhood. He started to learn accordeon at the age 7 and played the instrument in famous Estonian children ethno-collective Sõleke for many years. He continued the music studies at G.Otsa Music School in contemporary jazz piano.
In 1996, he founded his own production company with Priit Pajusaar. The successful composers and producers duo has represented Estonia at Eurovision Song Contest four times, in years 1996 in Oslo (Kaelakee hääl, Maarja-Liis Ilus & Ivo Linna), 1999 in Jerusalem (Diamond of Night, Evelin Samuel), 2004 in Istanbul (Tii, Neiokõsõ) and 2008 in Belgrade (Leto Svet, Kreisiraadio). They did write and produce music for many Estonian artists and collaborated intensely with Universal Music. In 1999, Glen and Ott did compose music for the computer-game Thunder Brigade. The game was created and coded by Priit Kasesalu, Ahti Heinla, Jaan Tallinn and Kaspar Loit, who back then operated under the company BlueMoon. The former three became later famous as Skype-creators. In 2007, Glen founded his mastering studio www.mastering.ee and focused on sound polishing, which is his main field up to date. Now Glen is specialised also in restoring older recordings and creating vinyl-masters. He did polish the sound of legendary Estonian pop-artist Jaak Joala's 10-CD set, which was released between 2016-2021. Glen is still involved as a live musician in collectives, playing keyboards and percussions, and giving lessons on contemporary piano. Drones, Multimedia and Hobby-Tech
In 2016, Glen helped his friend Nemo Vunk to start up a hobby-tech and drone venture www.droon.ee. Later, Glen’s role shifted to piloting drones, creating aerial photo and videography and to conduct trainings and presentations. www.droon.ee is now the official representative of DJI in Baltics and has retail shops in Estonia and Lithuania. |
